26 April: Photovoltaic Panels Recycling Workshop
According to the IRENA report “End of Life Management: Solar Photovoltaic Panels”, by 2050, the volume of waste from photovoltaic panels generated could represent a large stock of raw materials and other valuable components if it is well managed.
What business opportunities can it suppose?
It is estimated that the waste from photovoltaic panels, mainly composed of glass and metal, could amount to 78 million tons worldwide by the year 2050. If these are injected completely back into the economy, the value of the recovered material could exceed the 15,000 million dollars.
In the framework of the European project ELSi, SOLARTYS invites you to the first “Workshop for PV Recycling”, where you will get first hand results of the European project on solar panel recycling. You will discover initiatives that are being carried out within this topic and discuss opportunities with different agents and institutions that can be generated by the sector. A representative of the European Commission will be attending.
