European Photovoltaic Research Community meets in Barcelona
On the 25 th and 26 th of May 2016, the European research community working in the field of photovoltaics met in Barcelona for their general assembly taking place every three years, an initiative of the European Commission called the European Photovoltaic Clusters.
More than 30 projects gathered together to present their research activities and results but also their view on the most promising technologies and bottlenecks in the field of photovoltaic. The research projects, all financed by the European frameworks for research and innovation, represented a total of more than 140 million euros of investments.
The most important research institutions and industries in Europe brought forward the global picture of photovoltaics research and innovation in Europe but also expressed their vision about the roadmap to follow for the coming years. This event was co-organised by LEITAT, CEA, IREC, University of Barcelona and with the support of large industrial platforms such as Solar Power Europe and EMIRI.
The event was followed by two workshops organised by the MatHero project on standardisation and industrialisation around organic photovoltaic.
