Prototype Ocean Monitoring Sensors Show Revolutionary Potential

The EC-funded COMMON SENSE project is successfully developing prototypes for innovative, next generation sensing technologies that will support the protection of the marine environment in Europe. Progress on the development of these sensors, which will contribute to the implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) by enabling effective monitoring of our marine waters, was presented at the project’s recent partner meeting held in Terrassa, Spain, from 22-23 April 2015.

DEMANES General Assembly at LEITAT

DEMANES General Assembly took place during three days, November 25th-27th 2014, at LEITAT facilities (Terrassa, Spain). The first day was dedicated to the overal status and progress of the work packages under execution; the second day was focused on the demostrators (WP5) and the last day some issues related with dissemination, expliotation and validation strategy were disscussed. In addition, some social activities were done like a walking tour through Terrassa city, the facilities visit and a dinner for the whole consortium.

LEITAT @ IMS Barcelona Workshop 2014: 4-5 February

IMS will hold an international manufacturing R&D workshop to be held at the UPC – Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona Spain. The program includes reviews of the Horizon 2020 call for IMS, MANUNET II: Network of National and European Regional Funding Organizations, a European expert on trends for standards in additive manufacturing, ten (10) current projects, three (3) new projects looking for partners, and a review of the upcoming World Manufacturing Forum (www.worldmanufactiuringforum.org).
