BANTEX

ABSTRACT

The main objectives of the BANTEX project are the production of a mixed thread of banana and polymeric fiber and the production of technical fabrics from these yarns in order to be manufactured as a reinforcement of polymer matrix composite material. The project has as main advantages the fact that it is an agricultural product, the pseudotroncos of the banana tree, and there is no issue of food production for the production of this fiber. This project is based on the collaboration between the research group, the manufacturing processes, the ULPGC, and the experience of the banana fiber, as well as the injection process and the rotomolding, the LEITAT technology center, specialized in the production of yarns and technical textile products for the production of plates by compression.
