10th Conference of the Framework Program for Research and Innovation of the European Union in Spain

Under the motto “Towards a New Horizon”, the CDTI and the European Commission, in collaboration with the Board of Communities of Castilla La Mancha, organize the 10th Conference of the Framework Program for Research and Innovation of the European Union in Spain, which is being held on November 20 at the Palacio de Congresos de Toledo.

Leitat is actively participating in this event by presenting four posters of the following projects: GLAM, HOUSEFUL, POROUS4APP and HYPOSENS. These projects, all financed under the Horizon 2020 framework, are coordinated by Leitat.

The objective of the Conference is to analyze the participation of Spain in Horizon 2020 in order to draw conclusions that allow Spanish entities to better face the calls for proposals of the last years of the Program. In addition, during the Conference, the novelties implemented in the pilot of the European Innovation Council (EIC) will be reviewed in order to bring the research closer to the market and the proposal of the European Commission (EC) for Horizon Europe will be presented. will analyze with the help of the main Spanish participants.

After the institutional inauguration, which will be attended by the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities and a representative of the Board of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha, the main conference “Current status of the Framework Program Horizon 2020 and the future Horizon Europe” will run by the Deputy Director General of the DG Research and Innovation of the EC.

In the plenary session of the morning called “Horizon 2020, last period full of opportunities” there will be two round tables. The first one will be dedicated to reviewing the achievements made so far and the opportunities that still exist in the last years of the current Framework Program (FP).

Also, the afternoon session will have two other round tables, which will focus on the future PM “Horizon Europe, the immediate future”. They will analyze the proposal of the European Commission with two different approaches, addressing first a more institutional and strategic perspective, and dedicating the second to the vision of the participants.

In addition, during the Conference there will be an exhibition of posters of projects coordinated by Spanish entities that have been financed by the Horizon 2020 Program. Entities that are interested in exhibiting a poster must communicate it by filling in the application form before October 19, 2018.

Additionally, there will be the possibility of holding meetings with Horizon 2020 experts to consult and also seek collaboration opportunities through bilateral meetings with other participants.
