What should be done with old reverse osmosis membranes? REMEMBRANE, a European project proposes solutions to recover these mateirals in an innovative way. The project will hold its final conference on the 29th of october 2015 in Barcelona. The event will be hosted by the Institut Químic de Sarrià. If you would like to attend the meeting, click here. REMEMBRANE proposes a demonstration plant in which diverse mechanical and chemical treatments are developed in order to recover these membranes to reuse them in the same desalination process or in other applications which need a lower quality water specification but always in reverse osmosis technology
REMEMBRANE proposes an environmentally friendly and innovative technology that aims to improve the efficiency of membrane recovery for the same or some other application avoiding landfill disposal and lengthening membrane’s life cycle.
