Hybrid technology of electro-oxidation and ozone of low energy consumption for the reuse of process water

ABSTRACT

The project promotes the treatment and disinfection of water in the horticultural industry through hybrid technology to promote its reuse. It is based on the simultaneous combination of electro-oxidation (EO) and ozone (O3) technologies, together with a high efficiency power system and a decision support system.

Specifically, the project aims to reuse the water from the industrial washing of fruits and vegetables in order to reduce energy consumption by more than 30%. In addition, the process expects to save 63% in the cost of energy compared to conventional electro-oxidation processes for water treatment.
