NanoSolution in EC e-magazine CORDIS Express

The EC e-magazine CORDIS Express has devoted its latest issue to looking at a range of 8 research projects focused on developing new applications for nanomaterials as well as honing the risk assessment process’. These projects include applications in materials science, medical applications, art restoration, energy and electronics, as well as those related to commercialisation, safety testing and building consumer confidence.

Amongst them, NanoSolution project in which LEITAT is participating has been highlighted for building consumer confidence in Engineered NanoMaterials. NanoSolution is currently finding new methods for assessing the disadvantages and risks presented by exposure to industrial nano particles. The long-term goal is to create a set of biomarkers of ENM toxicity to that will ultimately allow the team to develop an ‘ENM safety classifier’.
