Improving lithium sulfur batteries thanks to solid electrolytes

LISA is focused on optimising Lithium Sulfur components and cells through new and significantly improved materials and innovative processes. This project directly builds on the results of the ALISE project, in which more than hundred pouch cells have been produced, and the first 2 kWh PHEV LiS battery module has been delivered. Nevertheless, there were key bottlenecks encountered during the project such as the safety, the volumetric energy density, the power rate and the cycle life. LISA proposes the development of high energy and safe Lithium Sulfur battery solving the problems of the cells developed in ALISE.
